Answer # 1096
Who is considered a Snowbird?
Region: Ontario Answer # 1096The term “snowbird” is used to describe a group of travellers who travel to, and stay in areas with warmer climates during the winter months. Most often, these travellers are retired individuals.
Canadian snowbirds usually travel to the most southern regions of the United States, including Florida, Arizona, California and Texas. However, other destinations outside of the U.S. are becoming more popular, such as the Caribbean, Costa Rica, Mexico, Panama, Ecuador, and Portugal.
Traditionally, snowbirds travel to the same destination each year and spend the entire winter in that destination.
